Skin Care Tips

Skin Care

If you are stressed, your skin will have problems. Whether you are losing sleep or are spending every waking minute in a state of worry and anxiety, you won't have that healthy glow to your face. Try meditation or relaxation techniques as well as exercise, which can both help immensely with reducing stress.

# Keep skin clean and dry. Use talcum powder in areas where skin touches skin, such as armpits and groin.

# Avoid very hot baths and showers. If your skin is dry, don't use bubble baths. Moisturizing soaps may help. Afterward, use a standard skin lotion, but don't put lotions between toes. The extra moisture there can encourage fungus to grow.

# Prevent dry skin. Scratching dry or itchy skin can open it up and allow infection to set in. Moisturize your skin to prevent chapping, especially in cold or windy weather.

Exfoliate Exfoliation is the step most people skip in their weekly skincare routine. But trust me, if you start properly exfoliating your skin, you will notice an almost immediate difference. According to Berg, one of the reasons men's skin looks more youthful than women's is because men tend to exfoliate daily when they shave. There are several ways to exfoliate skin: Microdermabrasion, chemical peels and retinoids.

Anti-aging ingredients to look for

Many skin-care products contain antioxidants that may reduce UVA damage and minimize collagen breakdown. Look for products that contain vitamin E, coenzyme Q10, lipoic acid, tea polyphenols or soy isoflavones.

Masks

Basically all face masks have some sort of a cleansing action. Various ingredients are used in the masks, depending on the skin type. Clay, form an important constituent of many face masks. They help to remove dirt, sebum, and dead skin so that the skin looks clean, soft and youthful.
